DOM’S LEADERSHIP APPROACH
Dom would often sit on a three legged stool at times when coaching or teaching with the students. In fact, he would especially use it when he would have a deeper and more compassionate moment with a student or colleague to take the time to connect and understand each other and the situation.
The three legged stool is an engineering marvel, a perfectly balanced entity in life and a great analogy for the power of the number 3.
The number three is the smallest number we need to create a pattern, the perfect combination of brevity and rhythm. The number three is the perfect number, the number of harmony, wisdom, and understanding. The number of time: Past, Present, Future; Birth, Life, Death; Beginning, Middle, End. The number of the divine: Mind, Body, Spirit.
That’s why we have the three legged stool on our logo, using the metaphor to capture the power of the number three for our mission and our three person project teams that will add value to schools and communities.
Scholarships
-
We want to recognize students and athletes who have demonstrated leadership qualities whether it be within the classroom, the school community as a whole, on a team, or when faced with adversity.
-
Scholarships will be awarded during at the end of the school year to male and female graduating seniors as the Dom Narcisco Memorial Scholarship in Peer Leadership Creation & Development
-
We will work closely with the school district to create the criteria that is aligned with our collective visions and missions.
“Your motivation to do this is legit. As soon as I saw the kid that was awarded this year’s scholarship I thought of Dominic. That’s what a memorial scholarship does, kinda of reminds you of who you loved and why you want to keep their legacy going”
— Dr. Kevin McCahill, former Superintendent Nanuet Union Free School District
3 Person Project Team
Using Dom’s 3 Legged stool as a metaphor, our goal is to empower and support 3 person project teams that create legacy projects for their school or community. An example would be (1) A Teacher, (2) A Student Athlete, (3) A Special Education Student that work together, with the Dom Narcisco Memorial Foundation’s resources, to create a legacy moment or experience for their school or community.
